Water tanks are one of the most important parts of a house or building as it is going to be the predominant source of your water. This water is going to be used for a wide variety of different purposes such as drinking, washing and cooking.
This is why you need to ensure that the tank is kept clean and working smoothly at all times. While it might sound like it is a big deal having to do all of this, it will most certainly save you a ton of stress and money in the long run. If something goes wrong with your water tank, it can be extremely stressful and a pincher on the wallet to get it repaired quickly.
Before you start the cleaning process you need to ensure that there is enough water in the reservoir before the tank is being cleaned. The main supplies that you will need are detergent, water, a hard brush and a high pressure jet. Make sure to first clean the outside of the tank before you begin and all tools have been disinfected before being used inside of the tank.
The first step is to drain out the water that is in the tank. Ideally don’t waste it and use it around the house for different chores. Otherwise you can drain it using a sludge pump.
You then need to scrub the walls and floors of the tank manually. This will allow you to get rid of any dirt, fungus or sediments that have formed over time. Once it has been scrubbed you can then move onto washing it out using a high pressure jet.
Any sediments that have congregated at the bottom of the tank can be sucked up using a hoover. Finally you will want to disinfect the tank using some form of anti-bacterial spray to ensure that germs are kept away.
You are then finished and can fill the tank with water once more and ensure that the disinfectant is run through the pipes too.
